Overview
Geometry 1A introduces students to the fundamental concepts of geometry, beginning with points, lines, planes, measurement, angles, and coordinate geometry. Students develop logical reasoning and learn to construct geometric proofs while exploring parallel and perpendicular lines, transformations, and congruent triangles. The course also covers important properties of triangles, including midsegments, perpendicular and angle bisectors, medians, altitudes, and triangle inequalities.
